Trophey of the Nations

Before the rooster crows on Sunday true Telemarkers will be up and ready to leave, backpacks stuffed with sleeping bags and granola bars, for a two day bivouac in Vallaccia in the company of our able alpine guides.

Two exciting days with two remarkable telemarkers, two capable mountaineers and most of all two extraordinary people: John Falkiner and Sarah Ferguson.

Remember to make reservations way in advance for this.

Our staff has organized a lighter program or those Telemarkers who bended too many elbows and knees the night before.

To start with, Skieda participants of all levels (beginners, intermediate or advanced) are welcome to join group or private lessons with highly qualified telemark teachers from various parts of the world.

We'll be having an early morning "back country", seal skin excursion for both beginners and experts.

The first competition of La Skieda 2000 will be held in the early afternoon at Mottolino Ski Area. Our traditional "Trophy of the Nations" race combines slalom, aerials, climbing and cross country and a ferocious attack in the direction of the finish line.

All survivors will meet later for the award giving ceremony at the "Skieda Pavillon". Time: 21:30, better known as 9:30pm, at St. Mary's Church in Trepalle "Green Planet Slide Show" by Paolo Tassi. We've already had the pleasure of seeing some of Paolo's adventures on film at an earlier Skieda as he crossed the Alps on telemark skis.

For the super resistant, the night continues with some serious Telemark Re-flexions in the Palaeozoic - Carboniferous Age at Daphne's Pub.
